Haynesworth to Pats for pocket change

The New England Patriots did it again; this time acquiring perennial pro-bowler and league leader in jerkness Albert Haynesworth. The Patriots and Bill Belichick have seemed to work wonders with head cases, but they don’t come any bigger than Haynesworth.

Haynesworth had issues playing in a 3-4 scheme with the Washington Redskins and New England runs a (you guessed it) 3-4 defense. Will Haynesworth be willing to play over center with the Pats, we will have to wait and see. The Wire’s prediction is that he will be an unstoppable force for the first few weeks and then in true face stomper fashion will pout, cry, whine, everything but play hard.

Good luck Bill, I think you’re going to need it.

Pats resign under performer Derrick Burgess

The Patriots re-inked former pro-bowler Derrick Burgess to a year contract.

Burgess led the NFL in sacks with 16 back in 2005, however has under performed since coming over to the Patriots before the 2009 season. Burgess only started 6 of the 16 games he played in and was limited to 35 tackles and only 5 sacks.
