Fantasy Football Impact of Returning Refs

Early Thursday morning the NFL and the officials Union announced they had agreed in principle to an 8 year deal.  The deal would allow the “Real” Refs to return to the field for tonight’s game between the Baltimore Ravens and Cleveland Browns.  Although the agreement still needs to be ratified with a 51% vote of the officials 121 members, it is expected to be ratified.

With the return of the official Officials fantasy players have to be aware of the on field ramifications.  Of course, there will be better control of time-outs and challenges, which should limit some extra plays from happening.  But, the big impact will come on the field.

Broncos Respect the Vets : Sign Brooking and Leonhard

The Denver Broncos are serious about making a run deep into the playoffs and possibly the Super Bowl this year.  They added veteran talent on offense with the additions of Peyton Manning and Brandon Stokley, and now they’ve done it on defense.

The Broncos added former Atlanta Falcons and Dallas Cowboy linebacker Keith Brookings on Monday.  Brookings who recorded 3 starts and played in all 16 games for Dallas registering 50 tackles last season, likely will step in as the starting middle linebacker in Denver, pushing Joe Mays back on the depth chart.

Felix Jones Passes Conditioning Test

Felix Jones, as well as, Brodney Pool and Andre Holmes all passed the Dallas Cowboys mandatory conditioning drills on Wednesday.

Convenient excuses were made for all.  Jones was “dehydrated”.  Pool and Holmes “had done some distance running in the off season”.  Holmes, it was said, was also suffering from “back stiffness”.

All three players are expected to be able to go at full speed on Friday, following the mandatory 3 days waiting period after failing their first conditioning test.
