Ryan Grant set to sign in Washington

Free agent running back, Ryan Grant, will be joining the Washington Redskins.  The 30-year old free agent and former Green Bay Packer will be working as the backup to rookie Alfred Morris.  With Roy Helu out with a foot injury and Evan Royster suffering from a patella injury the Redskins can use the veteran for much needed depth.

Grant will be asked to spell Morris and may be worked in as the third down back.  From a Fantasy Football perspective, Grant probably will not get the touches early on to merrit a pick up, however, give him 2 or 3 weeks and his running style should translate nicely into the Shannahan family blocking scheme.  If you’re in desperate need of a back, Grant still is not your answer, at least not right away.  If you have the depth to stash him in a corner of your bench, I would grab him, he’ll be a nice assett come playoff time.
