Jerome Simpson Back From Suspension

The Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Jerome Simpson has served his suspension.  After sitting out the first 3 games of the regular season, Simpson looks to step into the starting line up opposite Percy Harvin.  At 6’2″ and roughly 200 pounds Simpson is a perfect counterpart to the smaller Harvin and should be a fantasy contributor early on.

Simpson is not worth of a starting Fantasy Football spot, but he’s got an NFL size frame and can work well in the Minnesota system, especially with how well Christian Ponder is playing.  As soon as Ponder and Simpson develope chemistry, expect Simpson to become a versatile deep threat for the Vikings.

We are adding Simpson to our Add list for week four, however he should not be considered as a starter for at least two weeks.  He will need to get his legs under him, and create a relationship with Ponder.  The addition of Simpson in the passing game may take a few targets away from Harvin over the course of the season, but that should balance out with fewer over-under coverages that teams have been employing to minimize Harvin’s speed.  The addition of a deep threat should also open up a few extra holes for Adrian Peterson in the running game.  The biggest question is how will Simpson affect Kyle Rudolph.
